FESTIVAL HISTORY

2009: BALTIC VW GOLF MEET-UP
The origins of the festival date back to 2009, when the Latvian VW Golf Club organized the very first VW Golf meet-up in the Baltics. A total of 86 VW Golf owners attended – mostly from Latvia, with 7 participants from Estonia. The event received great enthusiasm from the community, laying the foundation for the next big step: the idea of creating a Baltic VW Festival.

2012: BALTIC VW FESTIVAL No.1
Following the tradition, the first official Baltic VW Festival took place in Sigulda, at the “Brūveri” leisure complex. Thanks to sponsor support and a well-prepared prize fund, the festival attracted over 250 visitors and more than 170 cars from Latvia, Estonia, and Lithuania.

2013: BALTIC VW FESTIVAL No.2
The second Baltic VW Festival was held in the Riga region, at the “Turbas” leisure complex. More than 300 visitors attended, bringing over 217 cars from Latvia, Estonia, Lithuania, and Russian car clubs.

2014: BALTIC VW FESTIVAL No.3
Continuing the great tradition and cooperation with the Estonian VW Club, the 2014 festival was hosted in Estonia. This year marked a major shift: the festival was expanded to a 2-day event, transforming it into a full weekend of sun and beach fun for VW enthusiasts.

2015: BALTIC VW FESTIVAL No.4
With the aim of finding the most convenient and enjoyable location for all VW fans, the 2015 festival was held at the Ventspils seaside camping site. It delivered a fantastic atmosphere – sun, beach, DJs, amazing cars… what more could anyone ask for?

2016: BALTIC V.A.G. FESTIVAL
Due to the growing interest in the event and based on visitor feedback, 2016 saw a major step forward – continuing the tradition while expanding it into the first Baltic V.A.G. Festival! The event took place once again at the Ventspils seaside camping site. A new highlight was added – a real car raffle for one lucky attendee. The top vehicles were awarded in 10 categories with valuable prizes. Visitors also had the chance to compete in the “Car Balance” and “Car Limbo” contests. The evening program kicked off with an award ceremony followed by a live performance from one of Latvia’s strongest rock bands at the time, Pienvedēja Piedzīvojumi, and the night kept going with DJ Reinz entertaining the crowd.
